Our Statistical Methodology
Public procurement awards often contain severe outliers—such as 5-year multi-million dollar framework agreements or small sub-$100 micro-purchases—that distort standard mathematical averages.
To provide contractors with realistic bid guidance, GetBizAlert calculates the Interquartile Range (IQR = Q3 - Q1). We exclude awards outside [Q1 - 1.5 × IQR, Q3 + 1.5 × IQR], giving you accurate medians representing true market pricing.
